Mt. Rainier - by Myung

When I first moved to Washington state, I saw that the symbol of Washington state, it is Mt. Rainier. Every vehicle’s license plate has the picture of Mt. Rainier. At that time I thought, ”What does it mean?“   So I wanted to know what Mt. Rainier is. There are many glaciers and crevasses, and it is 4392 meters (14400ft) tall. Many people want to climb it, but it is very difficult to climb. It is one of the highest Mountains and the most dangerous mountains to climb in North America, although, it looks good to see. Korean Americans call it “Num san” (The White Mountain). It is so beautiful, magnificent and gorgeous.
I thought and promised myself that one day I am going to climb to the summit of Mt. Rainier. If I am successful climbing to the top of Mt, Rainier, finally I would be a real Washingtonian.
I have been successful climbing to the top of Mt. Rainier twice since May, 2009 with my co-mountaineers.
I decided that every single year I am going to climb to Mt. Rainier, so I can stay healthy for a long time.

Hi Myung,

My name is Lori, I'm Aileen's sister-in-law. I wanted to tell you how courageous I think you are. Being persistent is a great quality to have and I hope you will continue this goal you have set for yourself. Thank you for sharing your story about Mt. Rainier; I enjoyed reading it.

I would LOVE to climb Mt. Ranier. I have only been on the mountain once, not very high, and I was much younger. Thanks for the inspiration.
